Back in 2D

For many reasons (including holydays and laziness) I haven't been writing any posts for a long time now !
But during all that time I've done a few experiments trying to turn my Rapman into a pen plotter.
This is what I'm going to describe in the next posts : using a 3D printer for doing 2D things.
Yes I know, it really sounds stupid...

...but it's not as stupid as it may sound ! It can be interesting for many reasons including :
- drawing with a pen (or pencil or posca or brush) won't produce the same "render" as regular printing
- such drawings can be made on hard support (like wood or thick cardboard) unlike regular printing
- successfully drawing with a pen is the first step for future milling application
The next posts will cover :
- Making a multi tool holder : designing and printing the part that will hold my pen
- Drawing with Gcode : how to turn an original drawing into a BfB compatible Gcode file
- Do you fill like I do ? : tell your plotter to also draw the filling instead of just the outline
- Z switch touch probe : because drawing or milling needs a perfectly leveled bed, I needed such a tool
So stay tuned !
